of Golf and The Corales Operations

During his tenure at Innisbrook, Jay served as Vice President of Golf Hosts, Inc., which included overseeing all the Golf Operations of Innisbrook and its sister property at the time, the 18-hole Tamarron Resort in Durango, Colorado.

Jay is a former PGA Tour player, qualifying for full status in 1993 while maintaining his Innisbrook Resort responsibilities.  Jay was named the 2001 and 2002 PGA of America’s Senior PGA Club Professional Player of the Year.  From 2001 through 2004 on the PGA Champions Tour, he accumulated seven top 10 finishes including a top ten in the 2002 Senior PGA Championship.  Jay accumulated almost $1 million in Champions Tour earnings.  Jay has competed in 24 major championships including many PGA Championships, US Opens, Senior PGAs, Senior US Opens and British Senior Opens.  He was back-to-back champion of the Southern Regional Club Professional Championship and two time representative of the PGA Cup Team.  He has been a three time North Florida PGA Section Champion, two-time North Florida Senior Open Champion, and North Florida PGA Section Player of the Year on many occasions. Jay still holds the PGA Championship 36-hole scoring record (134) for Club Professionals, trailing only Paul Azinger in 1988 at the halfway point at The Oaktree Country Club.

While distinguishing himself in management as well as a player, Jay also created the Golf Instruction Program at Innisbrook known as The Innisbrook Golf Institute, which he started in 1978.  The Golf Instruction Program offered a year long series of comprehensive instruction programs for all levels of play, including a summer program for juniors.  The teaching program included schools, private instruction, clinics, exhibitions, team building and member events.  Jay personally taught hundreds of playing schools, taught thousands of individual lessons and conducted hundreds of clinics, demonstrations and exhibitions.  Under Jay’s direction, he developed over 175 PGA members who have gone on to distinguish themselves as managers or teachers in their own right.

Since 2009 at Corales, Jay has added hundreds of students to his teaching resume and remains in high demand.
